Watched on a plane…
Ok let’s prefix this by saying, I’m a huge marvel fan, as mentioned in some of my previous posts. I also loved the original black panther movie. Obviously the plan was to have a follow up with Chadwick Boseman, but sadly this wasn’t an option.
Part of me had put watching the sequel off, because I loved the first one so much. Part of me is suffering from “marvel fatigue”, even after end game, there’s been movies and shows and I just didn’t get round to it (or the latest Thor movie) But I watched it yesterday and I’m glad I did.
There’s a lot going on, it’s fast paced, new characters, lots of action. Laetitia Wright steps up and does a great job. I can’t imagine what everyone involved in the movie felt like while making this project, it must have been complicated and they make some honourable mentions to Chadwick, in a tasteful manner.
It really feels like they are rebuilding the MCU after losing characters and actors, so this is a good building block. Is it a classic? No but it’s d safe to say that the new characters they’ve introduced will be back when the avengers reform with the new cap.
It’s a strong 3.5 out of 5.
